Dr. Brent D. Peterson
Dr. Peterson is the co-author of the bestselling book FAKE “WORK”: Why People Are Working Harder Than Ever but Accomplishing Less, and How to Fix the Problem. He is a sought-after and compelling keynote speaker, author, and advisor on strategy, alignment and execution as well as an advocate for education and training that makes a difference to people and organizations.
Brent speaks and consults with companies and audiences around the world. As a business leader Brent has a wealth of corporate experience, holding positions such as: CEO of the Apollo Consulting Group, affiliated with the University of Phoenix; Senior Vice President for the FranklinCovey Company and director of their Center for Research and Assessment; Senior Consultant with Phoenix Associates of Tokyo, Japan, and H. B. Konsultation of Stockholm, Sweden; Chairman of the Board of Integrated Learning Systems of Singapore; Partner/Consultant for the Future Generation Foundation of Cairo, Egypt. Brent has created, owned, and developed several companies in the training and development industry: TrueNorth Corporation — delivered and presented corporate educational programs using the delivery method of personal coaching; Prime Learning International — trained and developed staff personnel. Prime Learning offered approximately 200 seminars per month worldwide.
Brent has a vast background in speaking and presenting. He has made thousands of presentations to professional associations, universities, university groups, service organizations (Rotary and Kiwanis), industry groups, business organizations and government agencies. Brent has a rich history as an educator in such institutions as the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University (Professor Emeritus), where he served as Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and was the Nyal D. McMullin Professor of Entrepreneurship. Brent has taught at the University of Puget Sound (Washington), University of Montana, University of Utah, and Ohio University. Michael D. Gillespie
Mr. Gillespie is a serial entrepreneur. As a leader in distance learning and coaching, he has developed educational programs for some of the largest companies in the financial services industry. His approach to education is driven by return on investment: no return, no investment.
Michael was a co-founder of the original TrueNorth Corporation, a distance learning company that pioneered a unique training delivery system designed to increase participant retention and maximize return on training investment. TrueNorth was acquired by FranklinQuest, now known as FranklinCovey. At FranklinCovey, Michael served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In 1998, he co-founded Quantum Learning, an Internet training company. Quantum Learning designed and produced PricewaterhouseCoopers’ financial planning campus, which won 11 best practices awards. He created marketing and educational programs for Citibank, Bank of America, First Union Bank, Lincoln Benefit Life and Transamerica.
Michael later joined INVESTools as an Executive Vice President and was instrumental in launching BusinessWeek Investor Workshops and CNBC University. In 2004, he co-founded TrueNorth Academy which developed education programs for eBay University, TD AMERITRADE, Investor Business Daily, optionsXpress and OptionsHouse. TrueNorth later merged with GlobalBased Technologies where he was the President. As a founding partner in Tradewind Financial Services he developed coaching programs for optionMONSTER Education, and MarketClub/INO, and Zacks Investment Research. Michael received his Bachelors of Science degree in Economics, and Masters of Business Administration degree in Marketing and Strategic Planning from Brigham Young University.
